Brisbane to Bowral – Babymoon!

We are from Queensland. Queensland is very, very hot. When you are pregnant, being very very hot is not a pleasant experience. So, when the opportunity popped up for us to visit the Southern Highlands for my lovely Grandma’s birthday, we took it, ran with it, and turned it into a ‘babymoon’. What could go wrong?

It was honestly a beautiful trip and we loved exploring the area and enjoying 12 degree weather. We stayed at the Mittagong Motel and couldn’t speak highly of it enough. It’s a nice little motel – simple as that.

While we were there we:

  • Went to a puppet show with our four year old. We thought it was quite hilarious and A thought it was absolutely fantastic! They were so friendly and A loved being able to play with the puppets after the show. If you’re interested, it was on at Sutton Forest.
  • We went to the beautiful Bendooley Estate and Book Barn. It was such an intimate setting that would appease any book lover. We loved it so much we talked about getting married there, even though that would be totally inconvenient for 90% of our guests! B and I enjoyed having a little date here while A played with her extended family. Think low ceilings, a large fire place, wooden fittings, and large windows overlooking beautiful green country side. Even better, I had the most beautiful chocolate and grape cake there.
  • We checked our Dirty Jane’s Antiques. There was lots to look at.

We also spent some amazing time with our family. It was so special to celebrate with my Grandma and surprise her, because she didn’t think we’d be able to make the visit.

It was so much fun! Bowral has a very British feel, which made me long to go travelling even more. It was the perfect little getaway and I’m so glad we did it!
